Hi My name is Saurabh and I am looking for You. (You = Senior Art / Design professional looking for a change’) I am the Founder & CEO at Phonethics, a Digital Marketing firm based in Mumbai. Who are we? The story so far. We are 24 people with varied skills – from copy to design & brand consulting to search marketing. I set up Phonethics in 2006 to create short form content for mobile phones. Our library of character driven content [www.youtube.com/pokkitbuddies] was deployed across telecom operators. In 2008 we owned the single largest library of original short form content deployed for sale on mobile phones. Sometime in 2007, brands began to seek us out to create viral content after looking at our video content. By 2010, we were supporting the content with media buys and managing social communities. By 2013 we had launched cars, e-commerce portals, chocolates and much more, handling complete digital marketing across several functions. Why change’ to Phonethics? Today, our work goes well beyond the remit of likes’ and retweets’. As a digital partner, we drive the digital strategy for our clients. The team manages social communities across clients with over 5 million consumers. In the last twenty-four months we have evolved as a key strategic partner for our clients – defining their digital plans and executing everything from content to e-commerce partnerships. It’s not unusual to find a flower arrangement, runaway Lego pieces, massive printouts, instant cameras, terrariums and all manner of crazy things in our office. Of course, all of these are critical to the work we put out. (I’m told the instant noodle boxes all over the office are needed for creative stimulation) We love what we do. A lot. Enough to know that when we leave office we need to leave work behind, so that we may come back to it fresher, well rested and enriched by fully lived personal lives.
