The Group is now taking the next step in professionalizing its IT infrastructure services by creating a world-class professional Command and Control Centre function to monitor and manage its services 24×7.
We are looking for someone to –
➢ Oversee and drive the diagnosis, root cause and fix of infrastructure incidents.
➢ Manage, maintain, support and improve the Maersk IT Support, Operations, and Engineering department’s ability to respond to incidents across the entirety of our IT Infrastructure estate.
➢ Undertake root cause analysis of incidents and follow up through the Problem Management processes to ensure identified remedial actions are undertaken to prevent further reoccurrence.
Key responsibilities
➢ Incident management – Actively monitor inbound incident reports in the Maersk Service management tool and triage by business impact. Use your analytical and troubleshooting skills to narrow down areas of likely cause and bring in subject matter experts to help you diagnose.
➢ Maintain a wide breadth and depth of infrastructure knowledge irrespective of whether operating system, virtualisation, hardware or storage in use throughout Maersk’s estate such that you can troubleshoot appropriately.
➢ Work with vendors and subject matter expert colleagues to identify appropriate paths to resolve the issue and stop the ongoing business impact.
➢ Document communicate and log follow up actions for later triage, prioritisation and action to avoid reoccurrences.
➢ Maintain awareness of the forward schedule of change and changes actively in play or recently completed such that this awareness can be leveraged in the event of an incident occurring on the same or impacted platforms.
➢ Assist in the creation of high-quality documentation in accordance to the organisation’s standards
➢ Participate in risk assessment and reporting.
➢ Serve as an Incident Management escalation point when called upon.
We are looking for
➢ Demonstrable IT Infrastructure knowledge across a wide range of technology towers e.g. OS, VMware, Azure, Storage, Network and experience working with incidents in a mission critical environment.
➢ Windows and Linux Exposure and familiarity
➢ Sounds working knowledge and experience of 2nd/3rd line, O/S, Infrastructure, Storage and technology platform support.
➢ Hands-on experience working with service management tools like ServiceNow, BMC etc.
➢ Able to work with both public and private cloud environments.
➢ Capability to troubleshoot VMWare ESXi and how it interacts with other parts of the infrastructure e.g. storage, guest operating systems, virtual centre.
➢ Understanding of application topologies and how applications could and should be scaled for demand.
➢ Good understanding of Application architectures.
➢ Broad knowledge of IT Operations in an enterprise environment.
➢ Good understanding of Microsoft technologies; e.g. Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper V, Exchange,
